Newcastle Charity Roundtable: Ethics, investment and good governance (with lunch)
12:00 – 14:00 Malmaison Hotel, 104 Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3DX

Charities are increasingly facing difficult questions around values, and how trustees balance mission, risk and long-term financial sustainability. For example, should charities accept every donation? And, how can you develop an ethical policy that aligns your investments with your charitable purpose?

We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive charity roundtable lunch hosted by the Quilter Cheviot Newcastle Charities Team, with guest speaker Catherine Rustomji, Partner and Head of Charities at Shakespeare Martineau. Catherine advises some of the UK's leading charities on governance, compliance and robust decision-making, and brings deep practical experience of the issues facing the sector today.

During this interactive discussion, we will explore:

  1. The challenges currently facing charities and trustees
  2. Governance considerations when making ethical decisions
  3. Developing and implementing an ethical policy
  4. Practical approaches to accepting and declining donations
  5. Real-life scenarios and lessons learned

Who should attend?

Designed for charity leaders, trustees and finance directors, this session offers a focused forum to share experiences, exchange ideas and tackle the challenges facing both the sector and your own organisation. You will leave with practical frameworks for navigating difficult decisions.
