We are pleased to announce that The PITCH Fund received its 2022 GRESB results in October, where PITCH maintained its 3 “Green Star” status, achieving a score of 75 out of 100.

This year the Fund was placed in a larger peer group where it ranked 18th out of 80, previously ranking 3rd in a peer group of 9. As in the previous year, PITCH achieved a score of 30/30 for the Management Component.

In addition to GRESB reporting, in the past year we have commenced detailed analysis for PITCH to define our pathway to net zero carbon. This follows on from a project undertaken by our parent company Swiss Life Asset Managers, who have committed to a 20% carbon intensity reduction, for the directly held real estate portfolio, by 2030 in line with the aims of the Paris Agreement. The results of the comprehensive analysis, once finalised for PITCH, will allow us to set out our Fund’s approach to net zero carbon.

In parallel to this project, we are scaling up our ESG programme and practical actions in support of our approach to net zero carbon. These actions include:

  1. ESG data – implementation of a data management system and quarterly sustainability programme

  2. On-site renewable energy (e.g. roof mounted solar) – solar feasibility assessment of the existing portfolio and rollout plan for priority assets

  3. Reducing reliance on fossil fuels – electrification and decommissioning of gas for heating during refurbishment projects or at system replacement

  4. Targets – setting environmental performance targets to drive performance improvements where we have operational control.

We look forward to announcing our net zero commitment for PITCH in the next few months, whilst continuing to progress the practical actions that support decarbonisation of the Fund
