Charities have to prepare accounts in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) also known as the Charities SORP.
The SORP provides guidance for charities on how to apply FRS102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102). The most recent version of the SORP was issued in October 2025 and, as it applies for financial periods commencing on or after 1 January 2026, it is known as SORP 2026.
